Pain Management

DX Medical offers an interdisciplinary approach for easing the suffering and improving the quality of life of those living with pain. Pain may resolve suddenly once the underlying trauma or pathology has healed, and is treated by one of our practitioners with drugs such as analgesics. Effective management of short or long term pain requires proper diagnosis.

We may prescribe medication in order to treat an injury and pathology to support and accelerate healing. The purpose of medicine is to relieve pain and suffering. We may choose to treat mild to severe pain with medications. In some instances, the doctor may prescribe an injection.

Note that pain is easier to control when it is mild. Our doctor may prescribe you medication and you should take it regularly for a length of time. Sometimes this means taking medicine on a regular schedule. You may notice that there are times during the day that pain is increasing in intensity (such as at the end of the day or with certain activities). If this is your case, medication can be taken prior to the activity or time of day to help prevent pain from occurring.

An essential concept in pain management is that each person is different and will respond differently to situations, interventions, surgeries, and medications.

With proper treatment, you can live a full and normal life.

Lab & X-Rays on Site

We perform on-site laboratory testing and X-ray radiology imaging so you don't have to go outside of the facility for necessary medical tests. We do on-site screening for strep throat, mononucleosis and influenza and perform basic blood sugar, urinary and other laboratory testing. Our practitioners will collect blood samples and send them out to a lab for tests.
